Silhouette cards

I made some simple cards by cutting out silhouettes from newspaper, adding some pencil lines on some of them and gluing the silhouettes onto card.  I like the simplicity and the sustainability (all recycled materials).

Summer dresses

Two beautiful summer dresses were made for Christmas for two of my adorable nieces.  I found this beautiful pattern at www.habitual.wordpress.com under sundress pattern.  They were made with french seams and were simple to make.

Wings

I love the Coco Chanel quote:
"If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent their growing".

I love wings and have been dreaming lately of a dress with wings (like the fairy dresses little girls wear but for me!).  I even popped into the Allanah Hill store on Rundle Street and asked if they had a dress with wings because I thought if anyone would it would be there, but no luck!  I will have to make one some day...

Happy Scarf

For Christmas I made a beautiful lightweight cotton gauze scarf for my niece.  It was white with strips of different fabrics gathered and sewn down the centre.  So girly and pretty.

Fabric Bookends

We had a wonderful Christmas this year.  I handmade with love many of my Christmas presents. Much more challenging and time-consuming than buying them but I am thrilled as this has been an aim of mine for years.  Hope your Christmas was wonderful too.

Handmade bookends for my nephews made out of linen and cotton and stuffed with rice and polyester fill.  With the present I added some vintage childrens books that I found at Scammells Auctions.
